Sgt. Donald Conniff, 50, succumbed to catastrophic injuries sustained in an on-duty vehicle accident that occurred on January 1, 1998, while he was assigned to Mayor Rudolph Giuliani’s inaugural protection detail. He served the NYPD for 23 years.
